About the Job
Position Summary:
Steelial is seeking an experienced Stainless TIG Welder to join our industrial fabrication and installation team based out of Vinton, OH. This position involves shop and field work with travel required to customer job sites. The ideal candidate will have strong stainless GTAW (TIG) welding experience and the ability to produce clean, high-quality welds for industrial and sanitary applications.
Candidates must successfully pass a weld test prior to employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on stainless steel pipe, tube, and fabricated components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
- Assemble, fit, and weld stainless components to specification.
- Produce high-quality sanitary and cosmetic welds.
- Maintain purge quality and contamination control standards.
- Assist with installation and field fabrication at customer facilities.
- Follow OSHA and company safety procedures at all times.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in both shop and field environments.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of stainless TIG welding experience.
- Ability to pass a stainless TIG weld test prior to hire.
- Willingness and ability to travel for project work.
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in food processing or sanitary process piping environments.
- Pipe fitting and installation experience.
- Experience with purge welding and thin-gauge stainless materials.
- Industrial construction or shutdown experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in industrial environments for extended periods.
- Ability to work overtime and travel as project schedules require.
